Teaching can be a target allowing one to live his or her passion.
Yet, the low national success rate at the JAZZ EAT attests of two problems:
- the naivety of those not mesuring the necessity of a real training from jazz
dancers before teaching
- the multiplying training offers not adapted to jazz specificity
The required level to optain the EAT in the classical and contemporary dancing options is equivalent to the level of a third year cycle in State controlled schools (national conservatories). Or for the jazz option, the end of studies level in the Scene Stream course.
The preparation of last year students to the examination of the EAT combines:
- Learning the imposed variation
- Observation and correction of the free variation
- Jazz terminology
- Improvisation workshops
- Sites at your disposal
- Artistic documentation
- Simulation exercises
IMPORTANT-------------------------------------------
Students of the Ecole Supérieure de Danse Serge Alzetta are firstly considered as future performing dancers.
In view of the french law regulating dance teaching, students of the Scene Stream who have become professional dancers are exempted from the EAT and from all theory exams when they justify the necessary activity for the entitlement of unemployment rights (part time performers). Only the pedagogy credit remains compulsory and its praparation is provided as part of a partnership with the Ecole Superieure de Danse Cannes Rosella Hightower.
